I just wanted you to know that even though GST has over 300 people on the network now, a day doesn't go by that when a conflict in my life comes up I still don't ask 'What Would Winkler Do?'

Owen Wilson as Iron Fist...

I don't get to start off every morning by shooting hot cocoa from my nose. Thanks for the wake-up! That was damn funny and it hurt.

Next thing you know, they'll be casting Ben Affleck to play Daredevil!

Ironman? Boy Howdy, Robert Downey Jr won't have a long walk to get to Tony Stark.

I've always heard rumors that Marvel tried this eons ago and then chickened out, leaving the remains to become Robocop. I don't know how accurate that is but this 'new' version definitely looks like it hits fairly true to tale we all know for Ironman.

Of course I will never be satisfied until Marvel recognizes the ultimate splendor that is Brother Voodoo! Wonder when that movie will come out...I mean they did Howard the Duck!

I thought I'd stop by and say Happy Valentine's Day. Even though it is a scam by corporate America to sell more silly stuffed animals, chocolate, and cards.

Bah humbug! lol

Things are starting off rather well. Gonna be in a couple UK mags. Have about another dozen stories out there. Really just spending time cranking out as much decent material as I can to hit 2008.

And then there's my origami classes. Nude. Yeah, it's a trip but a definite career path I think. If not, I'm gearing up for American Idol 2009.

Where can we find an upcoming Winkler Showcase? Good things on the horizon?

Arggg!

Did you hear they are bringing Captain America 'back'. It's going to be the Bucky they brought back from the dead. And the editor says that with this change Cap is more popular than he's been since the 1940's...during um, the actual war.

Someone give me their sleeve. I'm gonna cry.

But other than that, 2008 kicking some butt for ya?

Hello Gregg!

David Sedaris is excellent! His writing seems effortless. Think Santaland Diaries is still my favourite story, and it never fails to make an appearance as a Christmas present for someone each year. I've heard his sister Amy is very good too, but haven't got round to reading her stuff yet.

Thanks for the comment!

Alternate reality

I’m not a 13-year-old boy from Western Maine, but I pretended to be one on the internet. That sounds a lot worse than it really is. It wasn’t an undercover sting to flush out predators. It was part of an alternate reality game (ARG) run by Scribner to promote Under the [...]

Thomas Sullivan: SEA LIONS IN COFFINS, GETTING LOST & WRITING WITHOUT WORDS

Pssst…me again.  Thought I’d check in on you.  See what kind of problems you got today.  No problems?  That’s a problem.  You’re an adventurer, a thinker, a romantic, a thrillseeker — something in a Walter Mitty fantasy that needs an adrenaline feed.  You need a problem.  Well…to be precise, you need a problem and a [...]

But You’ve Never Been There!

I like to write about places I’ve never been to.  It’s liberating, and it’s an experience that I recommend to other writers.

But wait a minute, you ask.  Don’t you have to visit places you write about?  Don’t you have to step on another country’s soil, smell the air, mingle with the inhabitants and interact with [...]

Researcher’s Hell

Now and then I sit back and contemplate the difference between myself and a few of the other writers I know. More often, I sit back and consider the differences between successful writers and those who haven’t yet reached published status. I need to clarify something here. When I say “published,” what I mean is [...]

Joyful Stress

Let me list for you some of my responsibilities.

I have a full-time job with a utility company, and while that job is staying, the location is moving… and me with it.  Starting in a month, I can expect an additional sixty minutes added to my daily commute (thirty minutes each way.)

I am planning to be [...]
