A lot of people try to pump up their horror resume and profile by telling about themselves and their work.

You simply put Idaho.

That is actually quite frightening and I applaud you.

whaddup, Kody. Just wondering if you'd gotten into Darklights yet. I had totally forgotten I had sent you a copy until cleaning out my mail folders.

Profile Information

Hometown:
Idaho
About Me:
Kody Boye was a normal small-town teenager until May 2007, when his short story [A] Prom Queen's Revenge was published in the Yellow Mama Webzine, letting lose the wrath of a prom queen bent on revenge. In the year 2007 alone, he hadfive stories accepted with the change of having two more stories run through a magazine in 2008.

In February 2007—shortly after Prom Queen had been accepted—Boye was given his own place on the Permuted Press forum. In the short span of one year, his promotional thread gained close to 10,000 views, ranking his thread as one of the most viewed threads on the Permuted Press forum. His popularity began to rise as he continued to get things accepted. He had stories on podcasts, in anthologies and in magazines within his first year of submitting stories.

At the beginning of 2008, Boye confirmed a novella collection Play Dead, which was his first larger work published.

Boye currently lives in Idaho with one dog, two cats and a small group of fish that live a wonderfully fishy life. He prefers horror over comedy, diet (Pepsi) over regular, and creepy music (which can be anything he wants it to be.)

Storytellers Unplugged

In love as it is in war

I promised some friends (and students) that I would talk about how one goes about writing a successful sex scene.  There are a lot of theories about this–one school, for example,  believes that a successful sex scene should titillate. (Do they believe a successful dinner scene should make you hungry? I write my dinner scenes [...]

“genre vs literary” in the days of the Technorenaissance

1

I was hanging out in a writer’s forum and came across the age-old question of how do you define genre and literary? which always turns into genre vs literary: genre types bash the literati for lacking plot (which is absurd), while the literati bash the genre-ati for lacking everything else (equally absurd).

One person [...]

FORENSICS 123: CRIME SCENE MISINTERPRETATIONS

There are many things that, when misinterpreted, can result in inaccurate crime scene investigation results. The following describe some potential misinterpretations.
