Welcome back after the break for all of the Hallowe'en madness. I have one more guest blogger for you, Stewart Sternberg. When I set out the call for guest bloggers Stewart was the one person I did not know already. I looked over his blog and immediately decided I had to have an article from him. He asked me what I would like to see and based on his recent blog entires I said something on Lovecraft or making a mythos would be great. This is it and I won't hold you up any more.

Talking about monsters seems to be appropriate this time of year. So, why do certain people (like me) write about monsters, read about monsters, draw monsters, watch monster movies, and just tend to find great fascination in all things monstrous? Is it creepy? Is it abnormal? Or is it just good, clean fun?
At times, I like to think of drawing monsters and writing about monsters as a bit of monster-slaying, creating diabolic beasts on paper to vanquish the demons in my past. And there are plenty…

This Halloween, for a different kind of treat, visit the House of Chamberlin. Open its heavy oaken doors, step through its dark stone threshold, and prowl its eerie halls. Spy strange, wondrous, fantastic, and frightful scenes. Meet lusty vampires, hungry werewolves, macabre musicians, and deadly dragons. Check out examples of Ric Chamberlin's artwork in the latest Niteblade Art Blog entry,
"House of Chamberlin".

Greg Schwartz, a fellow poet and composer of haiku both light and dark, penned a very interesting article about horrorku entitled

Have you ever heard of the Bizarro genre? Well today I'd like to introduce you to one of its finest writers, Jeremy C. Shipp. Jeremy has been published in the likes of Cemetery Dance, ChiZine, and The Bizarro Starter Kit (blue). He has also received great reviews including a memorable glowing recommendation from Piers Anthony. Besides his Bizzaro work--or nestled squarely within it--Jeremy also writes a mean horror story. Now Jeremy is going to tell us about how he writes and what he has learned…

The Banshee's Cry
A fell keening echoes across the moor,
Punctuated by the pealing thunder.
Pouring rain lashes at the windowpane

But the tumultuous storm cannot quell
The ominous wailing of that fey hag.
A figure wrapped in a funeral shroud…

It's no secret that an author is a business. Sometimes though it feels as if this gets lost in the reams of information and sites on how to write, and the courses that push the writing. It is extremely important to write well, to strive to improve constantly. There is no denying this, but where is the help once the writing and editing are done and the business part takes over? There is one writer's camp sort of deal that actually involves speaking with editors and other potential buyer types at…
